i had a world premiere of an opera!

through the nyu opera lab, we collaborated with the american opera project, the hudson guild, and the design for screen and stage program at nyu to create and premiere 12 new, fifteen-minute operas inspired by the historic hudson guild. zoe ray prawda and i wrote a piece called ‘the hands that planted’ which is an allegory exploring the complications the hudson guild is going through with a potential development. more information about the show can be found here.

i had a showcase at joe's pub!

our cycle had a showcase at joe’s pub the monday after graduation. we were able to work with a full band (vadim feichtner, carlos bauzys, jarrett murray, danny ursetti) and a wonderful director (brandon anderson) and danny larsen and amy burgess did nothing but set us up for success. everyone from our cohort showcased one song from their thesis musicals after a two day workshop with professional actors, a director, and a music director. here is a link to ‘part of it all’ from monster

it was an amazing experience and i cannot wait to see my material performed there again.

i graduated nyu!!

in the middle of may of 2024, i graduated with my masters in musical theatre writing as a composer from new york university. after two long years, it felt like such a relief and honor to attend these two ceremonies. i was fortunate enough to be the post-graduate representative for all of tisch school of the arts at nyu’s commencement at yankee stadium where i accepted an ceremonial degree on behalf of all the tisch post-graduates. and then i felt truly blessed to celebrate with my cycle at radio city music hall for the tisch salute.
